Points to Consider When Choosing a Business Partner or Investor for Your Gym

Business, Coaching

Today I'm going to go through what to consider when choosing a business partner or an investor. It's a decision that could impact the way you operate in both the short and long term.

Make sure both you and any potential business partner or investor are comfortable with the answers to all of the points below before proceeding with your business relationship. Here is a list of questions to ask before making any decisions:

  • First and foremost, is he or she a business partner or investor?
  • If an investor, is he or she going to guarantee silence as long as business targets are met?
  • If targets are not met, you could quickly have a boss. Are you comfortable with this?
  • What is he or she investing? Experience, time, or money? What is wanted in return?
  • He or she is not a coach or a mentor, just an owner of a percentage. Can you both handle this?
  • What gap does he or she fill and at and what price? Is this valuable for you and can you afford it?
  • Does he or she have a proven track record? Can he or she really help you?
  • Are you in a place where you even have a choice about having a business partner or investor? Do you have to do this for your business?
  • Most importantly, do your visions match and work together?
