Now, let's get down to brass tacks. A growth hack is a marketing technique consisting of three main components:

 

  1. The hack is an in-obvious technical innovation that leverages modern super-platforms enabled by the Internet.
  2. The viral loop is the mechanism that causes customers to invite others to use your solution.
  3. The retention mechanism is how you retain the business accessed through the viral loop.
