Recently I tried to convert my books to QuickBooks Online. I'd been putting it off for years. As a software engineer, I know how difficult it is to re-platform, and I was skeptical that I could make the switch seamlessly. But last week I girded my loins and took the plunge.


As expected, I encountered problems almost immediately. So after much fiddling and head scratching, I picked up the phone to call QuickBooks Online support. After waiting on hold for a very long time, a support rep picked up the phone and started reading from her script. She walked me through screens and directed me to push buttons. She was appropriately surprised to hear that the buttons she wanted me to push weren't there. She was very pleasant, but not helpful.
