The 3 Cornerstones of Programming for Client Success

Endurance Sports, Kettlebells, Strength and Conditioning

As a coach, you always want your clients to be perfect. You want them to eat right, sleep well, and train often and hard. You want them to get massage regularly and pay attention to how they walk when not at training.

In your head you know if you can get them to do everything right, your perfect plan will make them more successful than in their wildest dreams. But the real world doesn’t work like that. Work, kids, decreased hormones, and a body that may be seizing up from too much or too little activity - suddenly perfect goes out the window.

No plan in the world is going to make up for a forty-year-old who trains twice per week and eats well maybe one meal per day. And to make matters worse, often these two days aren’t evenly placed in the week. I have a client who trains Thursdays and Fridays. It’s not ideal, but it works for his life. And he’s been training with us for three years now, so it’s working for him.

A career as a coach or trainer is a never ending opportunity to learn, grow, and re-invent yourself.

You don’t get to pick the problems you solve because everyone who you come across is different: Different genders, ages, fitness levels, disposable time, disposable income, and almost always unsure of their commitment.

Here on Coaches Only we update the content regularly, we go in lots of different directions, and we engage with experts in all walks of life so long as they help coaches and trainers in pursuit of a fulfilling career.

There are no simple answers to how to be a good pro. No one can sell your services for you. There is no silver bullet for success.

That’s why you should sign up, be present, and when the opportunity arises, also take the initiative to contribute to the conversation.

Coaches Only is for independent coaches and trainers who believe in the value of their work and have a love of this industry.
