The nature of injuries is something of a conundrum. There are a lot of good theories out there on injury prevention, but the truth is that frequently when injuries occur there are so many variables at play that it is impossible to quantify exactly what “caused” the injury.

 

Did systematic fatigue and a certain pattern of weakness contribute? Sure, maybe. In a live situation, however, it’s hard to blame the ACL tear that resulted from high velocity physical contact solely on weak hip abductors.
